This weekend was a good one! Friday night I stayed in and got some much needed R&R. I woke up refreshed on Saturday and headed over to a place where I had bought a groupon to get some new glasses. I forgot to bring my perscription (annoying) but finalllllly picked out some new frames. Thank goodness. Being semi-blind is not cheap. I bought the cheapest frames in the store and my glasses still cost me almost $350! Not fair.
Afterwards I met up with my best friend from home for lunch. She was visiting for the weekend and we grabbed some food at a little pub near my apartment. So nice to catch up with her :)
After lunch I met up with TKO for a pub crawl through Beacon Hill for one of his friend's birthdays. I love going out in Beacon Hill -- I don't do it nearly often enough. I drank a littttle too much on the pub crawl and succumbed (succame??) to some drunk eating at the end of the night. I have been dying to hit up Saus --a little Belgian place that opened up last year-- for months and couldn't resist the offer. We split some pommes frites with some amazing dipping sauces (bacon parmesan and ole chipotle). So good!!!
We also split a frikandel, which is basically a "Belgian/Dutch street food best described as a burger-sausage." It was topped with shredded cheddar and a creamy cheddar sausage. I'm not too huge on sausages but this may have been the best I ever had!
Now for some Monday Setup, inspired by Monica at Run Eat Repeat's Sunday Setup! I didn't run at all last week, so I know if I put it on my calendar for this week I'll do it. The 5K is less than 9 weeks away and if I want to get anywhere close to that 30 minute mark I'm gonna have to get my butt in gear. So here goes:
Monday: Nothing
Tuesday: Nothing (valentine's day!)
Wednesday: Run (2 miles in < 22 mins., 2:1 intervals as long as I can go)
Thursday: 30 min. walk/zumba/abs
Friday: Run (2.5 miles in < 28 mins., 2:1 intervals as long as I can go)
Saturday: Gym class/Cardio circuit at home
Sunday: Gym class/Cardio circuit at home
Have a nice Monday!
