Life (in pictures...and some words)

I will obviously do a full recap on Liz and Marvin's wedding, but I'd rather wait until I have more photos available to do so. So for now, here's a couple of snapshots from the last week or so...

Starting with dinner at Liquid Art House! You might remember I did that Restaurant R&D session last year, but this was my first time actually eating at the restaurant. I ordered the summer vegetable salad and the special ceviche. So delish.

One morning it was crazy stormy in Boston -- like I was terrified I'd be struck by lightning while waiting at the bus stop. By the time I got to work, it looked like this! So pretty (picture doesn't do it justice).

My journey to NY was not a fun one. After almost 2 hours of Amtrak delays, I had to fight my way onto the LIRR with about 10,000 people coming out of a Billy Joel concert. I expected it to be empty at midnight on a Wednesday. Instead I had to listen to a group of drunk guys butcher Piano Man.

I wanted to buy Liz and Marvin something unique and memorable for their wedding. I ended up ordering them this blanket custom stitched with my favorite engagement photo of theirs. It looks so much better in person and I was thrilled with how it came out! I can just imagine their grand-kids cuddling up with it :-)

Liz and Marvin making a first toast at the rehearsal dinner!

What's better than NY pizza? I basically ate a whole pie at the rehearsal dinner. Good thing my dress fit me in the morning!

Liz bought us these cute silky robes to get ready in. This is pre hair and makeup.

Post hair and makeup! I loved how both came out. At the end of the night I was so sad to have to go back to my regular face...ha! Those eyelashes were crazy town.

Cousins all dolled up!

The final touches for Liz :-)

My beautiful mom!

On the way to the venue with the bridesmaids!

This photo was actually to check if I put her veil on straight. Holding the camera straight would have been a good idea eh?

I obviously didn't take any photos of the ceremony, but I love this one that someone shared online! More to come!

The ONLY picture I took of the bride and groom during the wedding...ha!

Me and dad!

Mom and dad on the dance floor.

They had probably the best wedding food I've ever eaten! For dinner I ordered the lobster risotto with shrimp and green beans. It was sooo good!

NYC style pretzels for the best midnight snack.

Marvin's mom made these adorable favors...so cute!

My final maid of honor duty = taking out Liz's 10,000 bobby pins at the after party.

The next day we went back to the venue to pick up the stuff left overnight. Liz and Marvin needed just a few final photos inside...

And then we were off to the 4th of July BBQ at Marvin's brother's house. Marvin's family is from Grenada so I seriously felt like I was transported to a Caribbean Island -- we had a heated pool, soca music blasting, and the most amazing drinks.

That night I stayed over my cousin's in Astoria so she could take me to the airport quickly on Sunday. I spent the morning watching the Bachelorette with her adorable little cat Olivia.

My new favorite salad from Freshii: greens, apples, beets, carrots, avocado and quinoa.

Pickle bar at Whole Foods! I tried them all, obviously.

Not a bad view for my Monday night run. I'm about to start week 6 of Couch to 5K!

The cutest shark week cupcakes from Georgetown!

Dinner at Row 34 is always great. Last night was no exception. I ordered this amazing snap pea salad and the tuna tartare.

And that's it! So much fun stuff happening in the next few weeks :-)
