When I got home from work I spent about an hour at the gym doing some cross training and getting in a nice stretch in the sauna. I ended up staying in on Friday night which my tired self definitely welcomed.
On Saturday morning I met up with some friends for brunch at Stephi's on Tremont. It was GORGEOUS out and we sat at a table right by a big open window. I ordered a goat cheese fritter and pear salad which was delicious.
I ended up drinking wayy more than expected which unfortunately resulted in some drunk eating. I tried to go to bed pretty early because I had to be up around 6 am for the BAA 5k. TKO was running it too so we met up and took a cab over to Copley. Being at this race really made me remember how much I LOVE races. There were so many people and the race atmosphere is really like nothing else. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the course was gorgeous. We finished under the Boston Marathon finish line which was so cool! I really with I had my camera when I was running down Boylston and approaching that finish line.I finished in under 37 minutes which was exciting, I guess. I was really hungover from the day before and obviously had a lack of training. The race definitely lit a bit of a fire in me -- I WANT to get back to my 10 min/mile pace.
After the race we had some bloody marys (my first!) then went to Cafeteria on Newbury Street for lunch. I ordered a pomegranate lemonade and a cobb salad that had grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, hard boiled eggs and bleu cheese. It was a really good salad!
I was so tired after brunch that I went home to take a nap instead of enjoying the beautiful day. Hopefully there will be more to come! TKO and I had dinner plans so I just laid around until it was time to go. We took the T into Harvard Square and went to Russell House Tavern. The restaurant had been on my bookmarks for a while now so I was excited to go.
We started with some Island Creek Oysters,
Tonight I'm planning to go food shopping and go to a pilates class at the gym. I haven't done pilates in ages so we'll see how that goes!
