Fourth of July

Hey there! Hope everyone enjoyed the fourth and got to spend a long weekend relaxing!

I for one had a great holiday and weekend. The fourth started out with some beach time and was followed by a bbq and fireworks. I can't remember the last time I had a cheeseburger made on a grill. Sooo good.









The next day I drove out to the Cape to spend the weekend at my friend Brittney's house (same place I went to last year). I was really looking forward to this weekend and it was so fun to spend some time with my girlfriends on the beach. I didn't take too many photos, but here are some snapshots from the weekend:


















Overall my eating/drinking habits were just okay. I wasn't going absolutely crazy, but I wasn't tracking. I tried to choose healthier options (steamed clams vs. fried, fat free froyo vs. ice cream, 1/2 a hot dog vs. a whole one), but definitely let myself go at points. I am happy to say that I did 30 day shred on both the 4th and and the 5th (before we left), took Saturday off from working out, and went for a run when I got home last night!

I was worried about the run because I haven't gone out for a run since before I started doing 30DS. I'm so happy to report that I had a great run...by far the best since I started running again. It's so great to see that 30DS has built up my endurance and it's such a motivator to continue! I ended up running around the blocks near my house and did 1 mile, walked a few minutes then ran another mile. So exciting! I did my best to prevent the comparisons from creeping up and ruining my good mood. At this point, there's nothing I can do except try to get back to the place I was. As long as I keep trying I should be proud, right?
