Friday Five

Happy Friday ya'll. Can you believe it's January 17?? WTF???

And now it's time for Friday Five!

5 things I'm eating (or ate) today:
1. Oatmeal with flax seeds, peanut butter and honey (a staple breakfast these days)
2. Prosciutto and cantaloupe
3. Cucumbers (I've been craving them for days)
4. The last of my homemade meatballs
5. Trail mix (cashews, craisins and dark chocolate chips)

5 things I'm doing this weekend:
1. Buying new pillows
2. Filing a police report (long story short: someone stole things from my apartment)
3. Skyping with Rose in Mongolia!
4. Relaxing -- I love long weekends
5. Watching the Patriots on Sunday (probably...)

5 recent workouts:
1. Barre: Last night I went to another Barre class at Athleta! Muscles I didn't know existed are hurting today. Muscles I DID know existed feel fine, which I think is a sign of progress! :)
2. Pace run: On Wednesday I did my first "pace run" in my "pre-training for 1/2 marathon training plan." Ha. I eeked out 30 minutes on the treadmill at a 5.0 pace while watching Jeopardy. The goal with these runs will be to increase speed each time I run, but keep the length to 30 minutes. On this first run I went exactly 2.5 miles in 30 minutes.
3. Total Body Strength class: I seriously love this class. It's the best part of my Mondays! And I really love seeing how much I improve in terms of weight I'm lifting and exercises completed without breaks.
4. Hills run: On Sunday I did my first "hills run" on the treadmill. It was so freakin' hard! I sprinted up the incline as fast I could go, then slowed down my speed to a jog or a walk in between. Torture. I was sweating like a monster.
5. Long run: Last Thursday was my first "long run" of the pre-training plan. This turned out to be exactly the same as my first pace run -- gotta start somewhere right! The goal for this run will be to maintain speed, but increase time.

5 restaurants I want to try (remember that list of 55 I mentioned?):
1. No. 9 Park
2. Puritan & Company
3. Westbridge
4. Ward 8
5. State Park

What are you up to on this fabulous Friday?
