Friday Five

Last Five Books I've Read:
1. A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout and Sara Corbett (started today!)
2. Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult
3. The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chamberlain
4. Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick
5. The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty

Five Documentaries I Want To Watch:
1. Paycheck to Paycheck (How one working mom manages to scrape by)
2. The Act of Killing (A documentary which challenges former Indonesian death-squad leaders to reenact their mass-killings in whichever cinematic genres they wish, including classic Hollywood crime scenarios and lavish musical numbers.)
3. The Yes Men Fix the World (Troublemaking duo Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, posing as their industrious alter-egos, expose the people profiting from Hurricane Katrina, the faces behind the environmental disaster in Bhopal, and other shocking events.)
4. Long Way Round (Join actor friends Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman for a 20,000-mile, 115-day motorcycle journey across the world from London to New York.)
5. Watermark (A documentary on how water shapes humanity.)

Five Apps I Use All The Time:
1. Gympact: I've talked about this before, and I still love it. I just cashed out $130, just for working out as I normally would!! I bet you're thinking "I should have signed up for this years ago!" Since I posted about it in 2012, they've updated the app so it connects with RunKeeper (so you can track runs, bikes, walks) and there is a "workout at home" option that I've yet to use. There are also other pacts for using My Fitness Pal and a "fruit and veggies" pact. Haven't used those either but will keep my eye on them.

2. Quiz Up: I just downloaded this a few weeks ago but it's my favorite game to play! Unlike Candy Crush it's not totally mind numbing and I don't feel bad about playing it. I love trivia!
3. Duolingo: I don't use this all the time, but when I'm bored with nothing to do, why not teach myself Italian? Duolingo is free, easy to use, and fun!
4. Timehop: One of my favorite apps! Timehop rounds up all of your social media activities for a specific day and shows it to you in one place every morning. I'm more active on social media than I realized and I love seeing photos I posted on facebook 7 years ago, or a tweet I wrote 3 years ago!

5. Uber: Uber is well known at this point, but I've been a huge fan for the last few years. I haven't taken a regular taxi in long time and I've had very, very few problems with Uber (and if I have, they've been acknowledged by the company and fixed). The drivers are reliable and I love that paying and tipping are done in one easy step well ahead of time. If you haven't signed up yet for Uber, do it! And use my referral code so we both get 20 bucks :)
