This weekend was another fun one! I felt like I had a mini stay-cation. On Friday night I went out to Central Square for "dinner and a show". I got free tickets to ImprovBoston's Movie! The Musical and used the opportunity to try out a new restaurant on my list. We went to Garden at the Cellar -- a small gastropub right on Mass Ave. I wanted everything on the menu, and ended up ordering a mini burger, a fried oyster bun, and splitting truffle fries and tator tots. Pretty healthy huh?
After dinner we walked over to the show. It was so fun and sooo funny! I would love to go back again. Improv artists (?)...comedians (?) are crazy smart. How can they come up with this stuff on the fly?!
On Saturday I was up bright and early for BosFIT -- a day dedicated to health and fitness! The $20 ticket got you access to the expo and four 30 minute trial classes. This event was AWESOME and totally worth the ticket price, especially with the sweet SWAG bag. There was also a debate-style panel discussion featuring Bryan Doo, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for The Boston Celtics, Rich Downing, Founder of Turnstyle Cycle, and Caitlin Milbury, Mind Body Manager at Exhale.
The four classes I tried were:
2. Bags + Beats: Bags + Beats focuses on your body’s natural motion to music. Similar to a drum-line, you learn to throw combinations with precise timing and effortless motion to the beat of the music.

4. Core Fusion Barre: This ballet inspired, core-centric class focuses on isolated exercises, alignment, flexibility and posture as you work through targeted mindful muscle movements.
The BollyX class was by far the most fun class I tried -- it really reminded me of Zumba...which I NEED to get back into. I also loved Bags + Beats and would definitely head back to the gym to take that class again.
Barry's Bootcamp, as expected, was insanely hard. I wasn't a huge fan of the instructors (they basically used fat/body shaming in order to encourage people...NOT my style) but I can see why the class is so famous for getting results. It was freakin' tough!
I continue not to be a huge fan of barre, but am happy I tried it considering classes at Exhale are super expensive!
I spent the rest of the day resting and recovering from the intense morning. I did something weird to my ankle and had to ice and elevate it for a while...I felt like I was back in soccer season. Luckily it's feeling pretty normal now so I'm just hoping it was just a fluke!

Sunday was another relaxing day. I did some cleaning and some beach reading since it was in the 80s!! I already finished "Orphan Train" and need a new book to read.
That's it...busy week ahead. I'm seeing Billy Joel on Thursday in NYC, I can't believe it's already here!
